Happy New Year!! 2021, the year of the Peanut!

 Dear Peanut,

It is officially 2021! 2020 was a very tough year for many people. The pandemic changed life for everyone in the world; sadly almost 350,000 people lost their lives in the US, it limited our ability to see our loved ones, and many people lost their jobs. There were a number of other things that happened this year including major fires in the west coast of the country, and a very contentious election between Trump and our soon to be new President Biden and a historic Vice President Harris (first female and first person of color in the office!) I want you to know how much the world changed while you were growing. I also want you to know how lucky your dad and I have been. In 2020, you came into our lives and we both stayed healthy- we are so unbelievably grateful. I was very lucky a few weeks ago to be among the first to get the Covid vaccine and will get the second dose next week. I am so glad that you will get some of that immunity through me!

I am now just over 35 weeks pregnant. You are so active! I can't believe how much you move with such little room. My pregnancy feels like it went very fast; despite it being a weird year, the time flew. We are still trying to figure out what your name will be, and are getting your nursery organized. It is amazing to think that you will be here in our arms within the next month. I am getting a little nervous. Your dad and I were so lucky to have wonderful parents; we want to be good parents to you too. I'm sure there will be times that you can't stand us and feel like we are being unfair. We will undoubtedly make some mistakes and will not be perfect, but we will always love you and try to do what is right for you.

Look at you wiggle!

This is my crazy pregnancy pillow

I have had a lot of back pain during the pregnancy and will use a ball on my back against the wall to try to get the muscles to relax
The picture doesn't really do it justice but Rudolph was a little stretched out. Yes, I wore this to work. Be prepared for us to embarrass you.
Your dad likes to take pictures of me when I fall asleep and label them "is she dead?"
I really do like being pregnant. I am really going to miss our little moments together. I love feeling you move. One of my favorite things is in the morning when my alarm first goes off. I am a notorious "snoozer." Your dad rolls over and will snuggle with us and put his hand on my belly to feel you move. We get to stay like this, just the 3 of us until my alarm goes off again and I have to get up. Those 10 minutes are the best part of my day :)
