Family Visits

Dear Peanut,
One day you will learn about 2020 in school. It has been quite the year. The Coronavirus pandemic has been steady, but there are times when the case numbers increase and we need to really hunker down. Right now, as the weather gets colder, case numbers are rising and we won't be able to travel to see family for Thanksgiving or Christmas. We are so glad that we recently had the chance for some family to visit us before things started to get bad again.
Nanna and Papa came to visit for the weekend. They were so excited to see my growing belly and feel you kicking! Man do you kick... I mean you can see my belly shaking! We cooked a ton, per usual; we made a tomato tarte (I took extra pepcid so I could have a bite!) homemade pasta and sourdough bread! Homemade sourdough is such a 2020 thing- your dad made the started during quarantine and we have kept it going :) We also went to the botanic gardens. Your Nanna knows so much about plants it is crazy. I swear every plant she had some random fact to comment on!

Sourdough!

Next, your Uncle Marc, Aunt Kristen, and cousin Ferne came to visit! After many years in Brooklyn, NY, they are ready to run for the mountains! We are so excited that they are moving to Denver and we will finally have family in town! You will get to meet and grown up with your cousin. I'm sure we will have you two skiing and hiking and all the Colorado things soon.

Ferne was a Parrot for Halloween

She is such a boss sitting at the head of the table!

Ferne is getting ready to walk before she is crawling!

Then, Aunt Molly came! Surprise, again we cooked most of the weekend. Molly is the best cook and really spoiled me with her tuna and avocado appetizer. We really got to catch up and get some good walks around the lake in.

Seriously, she even fried the wonton and made a mayo wasabi and miren sauce....

We keep telling Molly that we will take her to a concert at Red Rocks, but it still hasn't happened! At least we got to show her the venue and walk around a little. We actually tried to get some exercise and did the stairs a few times. Kind of mean to take a sea level gal to over 6,000 feet and make her climb stairs. We have got to get better at taking more pics!!!

The coolest part was that there was overlap between Marc, Kristen and Ferne and Molly. We all had made dinner together and hung out. Not many families are able to spend time together like that. We are so lucky that all our family has fun together :)

We may not be able to see anyone until after you are born. But we know once you are here, we will find a way to safely get Nanna, Papa. Grammie and PopPop here as well as the rest of your aunts and cousins!!! I know they are all dying to meet you!
